Seanema Film Festival

Seanema Film Festival

Our SEANEMA 1 experience taught us that:
People, young and old, in science and art, mechanics or doctors, regardless of nationality or religion, when united can accomplish great things, bringing change for themselves and the community. For our little town, this event was quite significant, echoing the main message that we all must engage in order to live a better tomorrow.
It doesn’t take much time and effort to revive youth activism and engage young people in such activities, they are already there, waiting eagerly to be noticed, invited to provide a helping hand, innovative ideas, a positive attitude in bringing positive changes. Young people are epitome of hope, we should all take their youth more seriously. We learned this from our more than 40 volunteers, students of all local high schools and various (state and foreign) universities.
Great people bring about great deeds and vice versa. Yet, for these heroes of our time we donćt have to look for in history books or newspapers, they are around us, living in our neighborhood, going to work/school with us, asking the same questions we ask and being faced by the same challenges. They just decided to search for answers themselves, crossing their own path, and that made all the difference. During Seanema Film Festival we met many of these great people who made a difference in their towns, countries. And we learned from them a lot.
Social networks are a great aid, indeed, and can be very useful if we use them in the service of noble aims and ideas. Via our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram profiles, as well as via our Seanema and iACT websites, we managed, despite the tough schedule and time limits, to reach out to our audience, artists, collaborators, benefactors, festival guests, media, from and (far) outside the country.
We are blessed to be surrounded with indescribable beauty all around us, ready to, bring people to itself, bring them closer to each other and to themselves. Our Seanema Film Festival fitted perfectly in a beach resort, where the full moon illuminated the scene, the sea waves served as a perfect intermezzo, and the vast expanse around us, the perfect equilibrium of water and soil brought us back to our roots, whispering to us that we can do more, we can do better.
Finally “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” We, iACT-ers, met for the first time in May 2015, in June we already had our NGO, and in September our Seanema Film Festival. Yet, despite out hard work and clear vision, we wouldn’t succeed without the support of our citizens and benefactors.
THANK YOU!
